Public Housing Repositioning
In recent years, HUD has expanded the number of options available to public housing agencies (PHAs) to convert (or “reposition”) their public housing to Section 8, including the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program, or RAD; Section 18 Demolition and Disposition; and, for smaller agencies, Streamlined Voluntary Conversion, or SVC.
By now, there is ample evidence that Section 8 is just a better subsidy platform through which to own, operate, and preserve public housing assets, especially in the ability to leverage private capital to meet mounting repair needs.
Through a combination of education, training, and technical assistance, the goal of Greg Byrne Consulting is to convert public housing to Section 8.
